Step-by-Step

1

🍽️ Add water

Pour a thin layer of water into a shallow plate and let the surface become still.

2

⚫ Sprinkle pepper

Sprinkle a little ground pepper across the water surface. Do not taste or blow on it.

3

🫧 Touch with soap

Put one tiny drop of dish soap on a fingertip or cotton bud, then gently touch the centre of the water.

4

👀 Observe the movement

The pepper quickly moves away from the soap. Discuss how soap changes the water surface. Wash hands and clean the plate afterwards.
